Computing has been a real interest of mine for as long as I can remember. Each day I arrived at nursery I used to run straight to the computer and try to spend as much of the day there as possible! This didn’t change as the years went on, if anything I became more keen.
From Website Design to Online Systems Development, my thirst for knowledge is far from quenched!
When I’m not at work, I spend as much time as possible with my family. Whenever the opportunity arises I like to put time into my own website projects and go Airsofting. My latest project can be found here.
In the year of 1999 I went on holiday with a friend and his Dad to Germany. We spent the entire week in the hotel room with a how-to book on HTML and a laptop. That was it, my interest in building websites was born.
This inevitably led to me creating further websites and eventually starting my own Website Design business. Some of these websites are still in use today.
I used to use automated software to create websites, but it didn’t take me long to realise that bespoke websites need to be built from scratch.
A large part of my early career was spent working at a Special Needs School for children and young adults with Autism. I taught P.E. for a few years before becoming a Class Teacher.
As much as I loved helping the students at the school, it became time for me to further my career and turn my true hobby into my day job.
I secured a role at QualitySolicitors and the skills I had developed rapidly. Primarily working on the websites the company provided, I was later sent on a PHP course and have since spent my time developing our unique Relational Database Management System.
